The conference to be held February 13-16, 2013 will mark fifty years since we first came together for the purpose of promoting research and teaching in the fields of economics and finance. The conference will take place at The Renaissance Mobile Riverview Plaza Hotel. The Program Chair for 2013 is Jocelyn Evans.

The process of registering for the conference is as follows:
  1. Go to http://economics-finance.org/zencart/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=1
  2. Add one (1) Conference Registration for $125 to your shopping cart
  3. If you want to attend the J Anderson Davis Luncheon, add one (1) ticket for $20
  4. If you want to attend the Teacher Training Program on Saturday morning, add one (1) for no cost.
  5. Then click on “add selected products to cart”
  6. Then check out. The checkout process will ask you to create a username and password again. Unfortunately this is required because the abstract submission system is completely separate from the registration system. The good news is that if we keep this registration system, your login username and password will be the same every year. The submission system is reset every year and therefore requires users to sign-up every year like it is the first time.

The AEF also sponsors The Academy of Economics and Finance Journal, a journal of peer-reviewed papers presented at the conference, in addition to a Papers and Proceedings volume. Papers may be submitted AFTER the conference by following the directions HERE.

PAPER SUBMISSIONS:
It is too late to submit a paper for this year's conference. You can access your submission account through the link below.
SUBMISSIONS Note: The database has been reset from last year. This means that everyone will have to sign-up as a new user. Sorry for the inconvenience.

The deadline for submissions was November 1, 2012.

CONFERENCE REGISTRATION:

We are using a new system for registration this year. There is no longer a $35 submission fee, however $35 of the registration fee is non-refundable. After January 5, 2013 none of the registration fee is refundable. Conference registration is $125.00 if payment is received on or before January 14, 2013. The registration fee after January 14th and on-site registrations is $155.00. The student registration fee is $35.00.

To register, click on the Register button below. When you register, select the icon if you have a terminal degree. Select the icon if you are a student. Select the icon to purchase a ticket for the J. Anderson Davis Luncheon.

The paper submission system and the registration system are two different systems. The submission system gets reset each year. The registratoin system will not be reset each year. This means that your logon data will be retained within the registration system.


CONFERENCE HOTEL RESERVATIONS:
Conference participants may reserve hotel rooms directly with the Renaissance Mobile Riverview Plaza Hotel by calling (800) 922-3298 and asking for the conference rate for the (AEF) Academy of Economics and Finance. Reservations may also be made online at http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/mobrv-renaissance-mobile-riverview-plaza-hotel/ using group code ACAACAA. The conference hotel rate is $129 for a single or double plus applicable tax. A credit card guaranteeing first night room deposit is required.

KEY DEADLINES SUMMARY:

  • September 4, 2012: First day for abstract submissions.
  • November 1, 2012: Deadline for submission of abstracts.
  • January 15, 2013: Finished papers should be delivered to discussants.
