The 39th annual meeting for the Academy of Economics and Finance will take place in Charleston, South Carolina, February 8-11, 2012 at The Francis Marion Hotel. In addition to hosting an assuredly fantastic AEF conference, few hotels in the Historic District offer visitors an opportunity to immerse themselves in Charleston's past and present with such convenience. Rob Burrus is the 2012 Program Chair.

The AEF also sponsors The Academy of Economics and Finance Journal, a journal of peer-reviewed papers presented at the conference, in addition to a Papers and Proceedings volume. Papers may be submitted AFTER the conference by following the directions HERE.

PAPER SUBMISSIONS:
To present a paper at the conference, research abstracts may be submitted to the following link:
SUBMISSIONS Note: The database has been reset from last year. This means that everyone will have to sign-up as a new user. Sorry for the inconvenience.

The submission fee is $35, but the fee will be subtracted from the submitting author's registration payment if the paper is accepted for presentation. The deadline for submissions is November 1, 2011. Please address any suggestions for special sessions or workshops to the program chair.

CONFERENCE REGISTRATION:
Conference registration takes place after a paper is accepted. Directions on how to register for the conference will be included in acceptance correspondence. Conference registration is $120.00 if payment and forms are received on or before January 14, 2012. The student registration fee is $35.00 and requires the completion of a registration form (even with no balance due). Registrations after January 14th and on-site registrations increase the registration fee to $150.00. CONFERENCE HOTEL RESERVATIONS:
Conference participants may reserve hotel rooms directly with the Francis Marion hotel by calling (843) 722-0600 or (877) 756-2121 on or before Monday, January 9, 2012 and asking for the conference rate for the (AEF) Academy of Economics and Finance. Reservations may also be made online at http://francismarionhotel.com using group code AEF. The conference hotel rate is $119 for a single or double plus applicable tax (currently 12.5%). A credit card guaranteeing first night room deposit is required. The conference room rate is not guaranteed after Monday January 9, 2012.

KEY DEADLINES SUMMARY:

• October 1, 2011: First day for abstract submissions.
• November 1, 2011: Deadline for submission of abstracts. Submission fee due at the time of submission.
• January 9, 2012: Deadline to make hotel reservations at the conference rate.
• January 14, 2012: Registration form and fee due for accepted articles.
