Our 52nd annual conference will take place at the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront , 225 E Coastline Drive, Jacksonville, Florida 32202.

Sessions take place on Thursday, February 5, and Friday, February 6, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. The J. Anderson Davis Luncheon occurs on Friday between 12:00-1:30 p.m. On Saturday, February 7, we have the Teacher Training Program between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.

  • Outstanding Paper Competition in Economics
    (More Information)Authors wishing to enter the Best Conference Paper competitions should prepare a hard copy submission to bring to the conference. These are deposited at the registration table in the conference reception area. The papers are evaluated by a committee of judges, and the best papers will be announced and awards presented at the 2015 conference at the end of the J. Anderson Davis Luncheon.
  • Outstanding Paper Competition in Finance
    (More Information)Authors wishing to enter the Best Conference Paper competitions should prepare a hard copy submission to bring to the conference. These are deposited at the registration table in the conference reception area. The papers are evaluated by a committee of judges, and the best papers will be announced and awards presented at the 2015 conference at the end of the J. Anderson Davis Luncheon.
  • Outstanding PhD Student Paper Competition in Economics

PUBLICATION OPPORTUNITIES:

The AEF also sponsors The Academy of Economics and Finance Journal, a journal of peer-reviewed papers presented at the conference, in addition to a Papers and Proceedings volume. Papers may be submitted AFTER the conference by following the directions HERE.


HOW TO SUBMIT AN ABSTRACT:
To submit an abstract of a paper to be presented at the conference, follow these steps:

  1. If you don't already have one, create a user's account by clicking the "Create An Account" link next to the user login box.
  2. Login and you will see the "Submit A Paper" menu item on the right side of the page. Click this item and enter the requested information into the form.
  3. Once your abstract has been approved for presentation, an acceptance letter will be emailed to you. This letter will invite you to present your paper at the annual conference.
  4. Upon receipt of the acceptance letter, you must indicate your acceptance of the invitation by registering for the conference. If you change your mind after submitting an abstract, please contact the program chair and let him/her know.


CONFERENCE FEES:

  • Registration Fee if received on or before January 9, 2015 is $125
  • Registration Fee if received on January 10, 2015 or after is $155
  • Student Registration Fee is $40
  • J. Anderson Davis Luncheon cost is $20 per person (students eat free)
  • Teacher Training Program no additional charge
Cancellation Policy: Cancellations must be received on or before January 24, 2015 to receive a partial refund. $45 of your registration fee is non-refundable. Cancellations received after January 24, 2015 are not eligible for a refund.


CONFERENCE HOTEL RESERVATIONS:
Conference participants may reserve hotel rooms directly with the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront by calling (888) 421-1442 and asking for the conference rate for the Academy of Economics and Finance (event ID 10715975). Reservations may also be made online at Hyatt Regency Hotel Reservations . The conference hotel rate starts at $149 (USD) for a Double Deluxe or Deluxe King plus applicable tax. A credit card guaranteeing first night room deposit is required.


KEY DEADLINES SUMMARY:

  • September 1, 2014: First day for abstract submissions.
  • November 15, 2014: Deadline for submission of abstracts.
  • January 24, 2015: Last day to cancel and still receive a partial refund.
